Hello,

I'm more and more thinking of ordering a Beoplay A6 and I would like to know if it would be a problem to place it right in front of a big window which receives morning till early afternoon sun. Do you thing that the white plastic back could become yellowish with the time? Can the sun damage the inside of the A6?

Hi Benoit,

I have floor to ceiling windows and it never harmed my BV6 at the time or A8 in the guests room. I'm thinking modern electronics are designed for this especially when you think of hot countries that reach 40+degrees in the summer.

I think that the white used today in higher quality products doesn't go that nasty yellow like it did in the 80s. Certainly my white MacBook lasted 5 years and still looked perfect as did my iPhone 4S. Whether B&O is using a quality plastic, who knows? But,,, my A8 is still white 2-3 years on.

I asked myself about the white because the BeoPlay A6 seems to be made from a very white (cold) white plastic unlike many other devices or furnitures which are more warm and already a bit 'creamy yellowish white'.

Some plastics used to have beige pigment to filter UV light which would degrade the plasticisers etc but I'm sure B&O will have specified the requirements to their suppliers for a white material capable of use in the sun etc.
