OK I'm new to this forum so be gentle. I have a Beosound 4 with Beolab 4000 speakers. I've had them about 6 years, one speaker failed last year and I had that repaired in the UK. Now I noticed when I played one of my favourite Queen CD's that I couldn't hear some of the lyrics, it sounded muffled. Stick on a pop CD and it seems to sound OK. Any ideas of the problem?I live in Bahrain and the local dealer can't seem to help much when it comes to repairs either. Is it the speaker as the source of the problem or the Beosound 4 (blown channel or something)?
If your BS4 has a Headphone-Jack -> try with a headphone if the sound is the same.
If so the BS4 is problem, otherwise are the Beolabs faulty.
Put in the headphones yesterday afternoon and the BS4 is fine, it's the Beolabs at fault. I must say a bit disappointed as this is the second fault from speakers costing close to £2000! Not sure what to do next, love the sound of the speakers and they look fabulous but not sure if I want to layout another £2K for the speakers. Thanks for your help.

It may sound obvious, but are both speakers set to left or right? I know with some cd's the vocals are louder on one channel, just to give the stereo sound..
Thanks for the message Bob. The speakers were working fine and then I noticed when I was playing the Queen CD nice and loud (empty house) that the sound wasn't right. I think the next step is drop them to the dealer to see what they think.can do?
