Hi,

I am new to B&O and this forum. I have a question on B&O Essence.

Currently, I have BL18 with Moment connected with a NAS in one of the bedroom. I have a separate Denon speaker system in the the living room, which I used to play CD once in a while.

Can I use the Essence to connect to the Denon, so that I can stream from the NAS to the Denon (multiform), and also the tricky part, to stream the CD audio from the Denon to Moment in the other room?

Thanks in advance.

I think you can, but you will need an adapter.

If you connect the powerlink speaker connections from the essence to one of the inputs on the denon you can use it for multi room. For this you will need a power link to RCA-adapter.

If you then connect your denon using a pre-out or similar to the RCA-input on the Essence, you should be able to stream your cd's to the rest of your home.

I was about to ask the similar thing: using Essence to

1.) "join" BC8500+passive speakers into multiroom for Deezer playback when streaming from Internet, and

2.) "join" BC8500's CD sound into multiroom by feeding Essence with CD audio from Beocenter's PoweLink connector when playing some opera CDs that are not available on Deezer

Looks like it could work which is great actually. :)

Hi,

I have take the plunge and purchase the Essence MK2 on my recent trip to Berlin.

When I got back, I manage to get Essence hook up with the Moment. The multiroom function works as promised.

However, there are 2 issues:

1. The Denon speaker system's recorder line-out is connected to the line-in of the Essence, while the line-in of the Denon speaker system to Essence PL1. The problem is when I am output from Essence to Denon, either from Deezer or NAS, the Essence would frequently auto select line-in as source, either mid way through the song or on the next song, even after I have selected NAS or Deezer repeatedly. Is this behavior of Essence expected since it auto select line-in on detecting a signal?

2. When playing CD on the Denon (the Denon is playing back the CD as well) and selecting multiroom with moment. The CD can be heard from Moment. However, there is 0.5sec lag at Moment from the Denon. It cannot be corrected at the delay setting as the delay cannot be set to zero (minimum setting is 0.1sec)  and also at lower delay setting the playback on moment tends to jump, which I suspect is due to network speed, one is wired while the other is WiFi.

Has anyone experience the same behavior on the Essence and perhaps know of any solutions?

Thank you.

YW
