Hi
I have a Beoplay A9 and a couple of Beolab 20, connected to my LG tv via Beolab 1 transmitter. I had planned to get the essence mkII when, but it was not available when it bought the rest of my setup.
I had two Chromecast audio, which I have connected so I have multiroom (Same music in all speakers)
And I have tunein, Spotify, Deezer available on all speakers.
Then I'm wondering how much will I gain by buying the essence mkII, is it only the bluetooth remote for volume, play, forward, backward and turn on?
Right now I am able to control the volume on the Beolab 20 with the LG remote control.Best Regards Rasmus
"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"
I have the remote for my a9 mkII. And it's cool but it is expensive for a remote :-)
a pro argument: Better quality, more flexible input options on the Essence AND you are not dependent on Google and their servers - which are used for their services. I got a Google Nexus Q multimedia streamer from Google once and they decided to switch off the server applications for the device... after that it was a paperweigth. So, I don't buy those kind of products anymore!
It has 24 bit/ 96 kHz I'm not sure if essence can provide this, only think it has analog out, but this is ok, as long as it's powerlink.
You are only able to use every one who support Chromecast, which is, tunein, spotify, deezer, google music and some more I think, so they don't have a single app access like B&o music. So this is opposite to what you are saying right?
Google Nexus Q was never sold, only given to developers as far as I know? I think they realized it was not good enough.
It would be nice with an easy access point, like the beo essence remote, this is why I'm considering. But it could be cheaper and maybe better to hang a Ipad on the wall. The one who has an essence are you happy, have you tried any thing else?
