How would I connect a coffee machine to Beolink? Pure interest only after watching a beolink video.

You are talking about the MLGW video, right? I think, the coffee machine is not directly connected to Beolink - I never found a coffee machine with masterlink connection...:) - but connected to a mains socket that can be switched on and off via a home automation system. So you program the socket to switch on at a certain time in the morning, when the lights go on, radio powers up.....

Indeed, B&O has a box called Masterlink gateway (MLGW). This box has 2 connections, on for the masterlink, and one that goes to your home automation system.

The MLGW that allows the Home Automation system to control your B&O system, but also allows you to control your home automation system from your B&O remote.

The home automation system can then control the coffee machine.

I presume the coffee machine in questions, looks like a Miele coffee machine does not have any sort of remote control/ inputs on it. Any ideas?

Did you read Phils and my post above? MLGW can control a home automation system, and the home automation system can control every device with a mains plug by means of switching the device on and off. This is also possible timer controlled at certain times executed by the home automation system.

Hope this helps

Miele do a range of appliances that can be networked through a gateway..

Its called Miele@Home. There are 2 built in coffee machines that are compatible.

While I can imagine the connectivity could be useful for monitoring for fire,  flooded etc I personally don't need to get an email every time the dishwasher is finished.

ngear,

Thanks for the info. I like the idea that the coffee machine will make a cup of coffee for you in the morning, however would be embarrassing if the cup wasn't there first!

You might want to consider a standalone coffee maker with a built-in timer!

The MLGW is very expensive, and so is a home automation system.
