I have a Beotalk 1200 which has faithfully worked for many years.  Recently, we had a power cut. Since when the machine appears to be dead. The display shows the default date/time, but none of the buttons work. I have checked the associated phone-line (all ok), also unplugged the answering machine itself, waited a minute or so before plug in. The display lights up, but otherwise nothing.

The plug goes into a surge protector before being connected to the mains power. I wouldn't have thought that would be cause otherwise the answering machine display wouldn't light up, but perhaps something has happened to the innards?

Is this is a case of getting a new machine, or is there some sort of reset button I should press/

Any suggestions, please.
