Dear All
I switched from Beovision 8-40 to AVANT 55 and I connected the same sub-woofer (non B&O it is a KEF) to the TV.
The sub-woofer is amplified and would automatically switch on as soon as the signal arrive.
No problem with BV8-40. With the new Avant I can only connect it as LINE ( but then the volume on the sub can not be modified by the TV). Otherwise the unit is marked as missing ( I tried as BEOLAB 2 or BEOLAB 11).
The cable I used is basically converting the signal wires from powerlink cable in RCA standard plug.
Any suggestion or recommendation ?
Regards
Hello,
Perhaps you could try the other alternative product. If I remember correctly there is also another speaker you could chose instead of LINE. One with volume controls (NON B&O). Have to look at home but I am quite sure there is one.
I think BeoVision Avant might listen for a signal from a PL-enabled speaker and that is why it won't power on your subwoofer if you select a BeoLab. I notice that my Avant detects when there is a speaker connected or not also on my system.regards,Michael

Hello
actually I tried also the option "OTHER" but it gives me the same indication. Loudspeaker missing.
I do not know how AVANT detect the presence of loudspeaker. However I has to disconnect the BELOAB 8000 ( front) for some maintenance and teh AVANT indicated them to be missing. Maybe some return on the switching on control ?
