Hello,

I'm trying to assist someone with a BeoVision 8-32 TV to switch from satellite TV to digital TV  offered by the internet provider.

According to the instructions, the TV box from the internet provider should be connected via a HDMI cable to the TV (and with an Ethernet cable to the router and with a power cable to the power plug).

My problem is that the B&O 8-32 does not seem to recognize the TV box, or rather, I don't know how to register the new connection.

I wonder whether it has to do with the fact that the connection is only via the HDMI cable, whereas the B&O guidelines say "(High Definition Multimedia Interface) _to be used in conjunction with an AV socket_."

I have found the CONNECTIONS menu, where AV1 is currently V.MEM and AV2 is STB (DTV) (for the satellite). Should I know work with AV3, even though the new TV box is connected only in HDMI, and not AV3?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Katrin

Hello the max resolution of your TV is 720P or 1080i. If you  SAT receiver is at the moment setup for 1080p you will not see anything.

Hi Katrin,

Welcome to beoworld.

Yes, you'll need to configure AV3 for the new box (or reconfigure AV2 if the old satellite box is no longer connected).

Within the AV2 (or AV3) sub-menu, you'll see options for Source (this determines which button on the remote is used to select this source), and there will be an entry for HDMI which you will need to set to 'YES'.

Kind regards,

Martin.

Thanks! Now that I have added the respective AV3 source (which was called PC) to the list, I can access it with the remote control and the new TV box works.

Excellent, well done. You can change the change the source used in the AV3 menu from 'PC' to something more appropriate if you want to - it's usually worth setting it to one of the physical buttons on the remote if you haven't already used them all up as it means you can access the source with a single button press rather than having to use LIST.

Kind Regards,

Martin.
