Hello everyone.

I am wondering, is it possible to use masterlink between two BV6-22 and get the sound from one to the other?

I am using one as a computer monitor, DVI and RCA in. and if ML is connected between them, could I then get the sound in the other one as well?

obviously not the picture, but at least the sound and use the speaker and the display off?

I guess the same goes with connecting one BV6-22 to my BV7-32 and use the sound in the same way?

Never been a master at mastering the masterlink.... Big Smile

If both BV6s are equipped with Masterlink moduls it will work. Set first BV to V.OPT 2 (master) and 2nd BV to V.OPT 6 (link).

Now you can transmit audio from master BV to link BV.

And you can also transmit picture if you connect both BVs via a coax cable. Depending on your setup you will need an RF link amplifier.

You find all info in the reference guide.

Hello Stefan,

I have no idea where I do this setup? Cant find anything in the menu for that.

Where do I find this reference guide?

Sorry but I am totally lost when it comes to this linking business.

If you are sure, that both BVs are equipped with ML moduls, simply connect them wth an ML cable.

You will find answers about how to do the option setting (via Beo4 remote) in your manual, or just use the search in the right upper corner.

The reference guide can be found in the product section under user/service manuals. You have to upgrade your membership for access I think.

Well the ML cable is connected between them both. But I dont get any options popping up in the menu.

Tried to search BW but could not find anything. Guess I will have to look more on google for manuals.

Edit:

I have now downloaded the PDF, and I am starting to really doubt my technologically "expertise"....

I have follow the steps on page 61 in the manual. Since it is a pdf, i cant copy/paste, so i will try and write it.

-while holding the "red dot", press LIST.

-let go of both buttons.

-press LIST repeatedly to display OPTION?. on Beo4 and press GO.

-press LIST repeatedly to display V.OPT on Beo4 (so far all good), and then key in the appropriate number, 1, 2 or 4 (and here it goes nuts, when i  push the number the remote just goes out of this menu and back to normal. I dont understand how this would effect the TV at all)..

That's correct, the red light on the beovision should blink to show that it has changed Video Options and then it should work.

Basically the option setting tell the Beovision what sort of video product it is - i,e Master Video or Linked to another.

Ok, so I have now finally managed (to understand) and set the master to Nr.2 and the other Tv to Nr.6.

I have sound as normal in the master, and the cable is connected. so how do I make the sound active in the other TV?

Btw, really appreciate all the help!

In a link room, pressing a source button will default to that source from the devices in that room (if it exists), or that source from the main room if it exists there but not in the link room.

Because you have identical devices in both rooms (and therefore identical sources in both rooms) you need to use 'LINK' button first before selecting a sourcre, eg LINK then TV to tell the system you want to listen to the TV source from the main room rather than the one that is available locally.

To do this, you need to press LIST repeatedly until LINK is displayed, then press the TV button.

If LINK is not in the list on your remote you will need to add it:-

Hold down the power button, then press LIST,

press LIST until the display shows ADD?, then press GO.

press LIST until the display shows LINK, then press GO.

Kind Regards,

Martin.

This won`t give you sound via Masterlink. Sound of mainroom video sources are transmitted mono via coax cable. which is not installed as I understand it. If you select AV in addition you`ll get sound in stereo via Masterlink.

For audio sources you just need to select the main room audio source (RADIO, A.TAPE, CD...) or LINK audio source, if this specific audio source is also present in the linkroom.

Thanks Stefan,

Yes I forgot there was no coax connected between the two BVs, so the OP will indeed need to use the AV function.

If I understand correctly he just has the two identical Beovisions (so likely the same sources in both rooms), so I guess he just needs to follow the same instructions as before, but add LINK-AV to the list and use this (instead of LINK).

Kind Regards,

Martin.

Hello

Thanks for the input.

I actually made a coax as well and connected, so it is there.

But I still cant get it to work. The TVs are indeed in the same room, considering the commands from the remot, I am covering each TV when I try to setup the other.

As it is now, it does not work yet, but at least my office desk looks fairly cool and professional CoolBig Smile
