I am refoaming all my Beolab 6000 woofers as they have started to crack.

I just wanted to know if the new surround should be placed as the original behind the cone or can one put it in front of the cone. If behind......must the old surround part that is glued to the back be completely removed?

Also I know lots of people don't replace the gaskets? I'm not sure what the purpose of the gasket is and should I replace it?

Thanks

Ben

It is always best to replace like for like, so if the old surrounds were behind the cone, then that's where the new ones should go. Equally, yes, you should remove all traces of the old surround before fitting the new one.
