What might help is using the Configuration tool on your PC. Simply connect the charger to the USB port of your PC and dock the Beo6. When you do not have the Config tool installed ask your dealer to try it.

BeoVision 11-55, BeoLab 8000, BeoRemote One BT, AppleTV 4, 2x BeoPlay A2, BeoPlay A1

Is the Display totally black, if so, then this is a known issue and happens when the Beo6 has a low power condition and can enter the boot loader mode which also means the battery will not charge when on the charger.

There is a firmware fix for this issue, but clearly we have to get the Beo6 working again before the new firmware can be updated. Generally speaking the only way to get it back into a working condition is to remove the battery and recharge it externally or install a new fully charged battery.

Given, to get the firmware uploaded you will also have to have the latest version of the B&O Configuration Tool and when you upload a new or previous configuration, then the firmware will be updated.

Hello Keith,

Is there no reset button on the beo6 so you can reset him en bring him back to factory settings?

I have the same problem

Greetings Boem

Boem,

There is no reset button on the Beo6 and because the unit drops into "Boot Loader Mode" the actual Firmware operating system is not working.

The solution I provided is the only known solution, but once you get it working again, it is important to get the firmware updated either if you have the latest Configuration Tool or getting your dealer to do it.

Hello Keith,

My Beo5 did the same and is now blocked.

I left it charging for one night and in the morning the unit was hot.

Since a few weeks the unit was  discharging very fast when out of it's dock.

Could  it also be a battery failure?

Since the unit is an early model, is the replacement of the battery "tricky" (I am not very skillful and does not solder)?

Kind regards,

Yann.

To who it may help...

Answer from Beocare for Beo5:

Press the central button for at least 30 seconds.

Put the remote on the charger.

Wait 15 minutes...

Pray BeoGod to bring the Beo5 to life.

It worked for me.

Kind regards,

Yann.
