As the title suggests, I'm curious as to what your favourite current product is!

I post this thread as I took home a BeoPlay A6 to have a try-out, and I can now assure you it's not leaving my house!!  I absolutely love it.

So, for me, the A6 is my favourite current product. It might not be the best (BeoLab 90, obviously), but it's my favourite at the moment because it's just SO good!!!

An honourable mention to my H8's which, this morning, kept me glued to my Eames chair for a good two hours whilst trawling Deezer (which my Moment got me a free 12 Months of...) for a playlist to bust out at my best friends wedding reception weekend (which I'll be taking the A6 to for the evening before, then my Lab 5's for the evening 'do' - it's in a rented country house)...

Over to you!

Lee

BV11 years and years on. Timeless design. Sadly, nothing else in the range really appeals to me but i'm OK with that :)

Not everyone will agree with me, but for me its the Moment.

After much trial and error, I finally get the device working properly with the network. Now our family enjoys every day the fine sounds coming out of it in most rooms of the house.

I agree and it appears the audiophile press is starting to agree.

Mine is not one specific product, but it is the interaction between the different new NL products:

For me it has to be the BeoLab 18. Ever since they were announced they have continued to grow on me and I have come to love their understated and discreet elegance. I never thought that the BeoLab 8000 could ever be redesigned, let alone improved but Mr Torsten Valeur managed to prove me wrong Big Smile

Not to mention that they also sound superb! In the end, for me, BL18 embody everything that b&o stands for...

Couldn't agree more.  Love my BL18s. They never fail to get favourable comments from visitors and they sound fantastic.  But also think myA2 is pretty amazing for music on the go.

#1 Beosound Moment: it completes my B&O components, very easy to use. It does have some technical deficiencies, but all in all it is my favorite B&O device right now. It makes me listen to music as soon as I am home.

#2 BV11: just a beautiful piece of art, especially with the electric wall mount

#3 Beolab 20: great sound, very reliable wireless performance

It was a very expensive move for me to switch from a high-end hifi system to an almost complete B&O multiroom setup, but at this point, I am very glad I did it

I went to hear them 2 days ago and was quite dissappointed on music playback. The stereo imaging was dreadful and the clarity was very poor considering the price, almost like listening to the performers through a net curtain.

The salesman insisted he was using uncompressed material, and played a variety of tracks.

When I stated that I thought they were not as good as the beoLab5s, the salesman's reply was, well the BeoLab 90s will not perform correctly until a software update in JULY?????

So the 90s can't get my vote for the best of 2016.

New Multiroom concept gets my vote as if it works as advertised (B&O software permitting), I can think of no other single brand delivering such a complete solution.

Ok, you are the first to have something negative to say about the bl90. As mentioned before I cant give my own impressions yet. But if the software is so bad at the moment it would be strange to let people listen to them.

The software is not 'bad'.

What still is not finished, is the software for the 'Active Room Compensation'.

Hard to say what StUrrock has experienced.

However, anyone (else), who listened sitting pretty much in the sweetspot, tells that he/she was very exited with the BL90's.

Please listen for yourself, when possible.

I have listened to two auditions of the BL90 to date; the first was very disappointing – being in wide mode only and listening to Spotify I believe at 192kbs or similar. All I heard was noise and hiss. To be fair, the units were only setup that day and not fully optimised.

The second sitting was much better. Narrow beam was engaged and the music was Spotify at 320kbs. Not ideal but much better.

The bass is tight and punchy. The mids were meaty. I did not however fully engage with the treble tones – the BL90 treble sounds very different to the BL5’s voice which are quiet bright anyway. Less so with the 90’s. However, there is no mistaking the imaging, bass and power of these units over that of the BL5’s.

However, like most loudspeakers (of all makes) of the calibre (and price) of the BL5 and above, I think the sound produced at this level is both excellent but also very subjective and you either like it or not. I think this is why some people trash one manufacturer over another….i.e. “you can get better for less” etc.

Also reading the white paper, the BL90’s can be tuned almost infinitely using an on-board graphic equaliser (these functions I believe with be updated/activated in the July download). Thus, the USP of this product is it can deliver excellent music reproduction in terms of image in most acoustically untreated rooms and that you can tune/tweak it somewhat to your needs/taste.  i.e. it is attempting to be a one-stop-shop product with an operating envelope supposedly eclipsing all others.

Finally, at the end of the day, you must also remember that the performance of both the BL5 and the BL90 depend just as greatly up on the quality of the recording you are playing as well as the room acoustics you are listening in.

I wrote a response last night on my iPad, and posted but it didn't appear.

I think the BL19 is the 'quiet' achiever.

It adds a nice warmth to the sound and in my corner it is in conspicuous

I was worried before buying it that it would be too big for my room but it's not

I also think the Avant, i use it every day.  Last week when i was away a the Gold Coast the TV in the apartment was a Panasonic (a brand which i admire) but the sound was terrible.  You never realise until you have good speakers.

Love the A2, well priced and a great sound from such a compact unit. Perfect for taking in the suitcase for the holidays!!!

Beosound Moment - i love the concept to have an digital player without the need of a pad or phone or....something else.

I have not heard so many "new" music the last years before.

My BL 18's. They just look so fantastic and sound great as well.  No speaker out there even comes close to the modern yet retro looks.

BeoLab 18's. Beolab 3's. A8. A9. A2. H7.

Thinking about my favorite product in the current lineup was pretty interesting.  I limited my selections to the items I have and use frequently.  Under consideration is:

BeoLab 14 - When this was first introduced I got a booklet for it from my dealer.  I immediately fell in love with the speakers because it was so different in size and looks to what I had then.  My first and only Bang & Olufsen system I had then was the BeoSound 8 and I was more impressed with it than my Macintosh MHT100 based system. I had to find a way to get it and have no regrets since.  I love the sound from this system!  Definitely in the running for favorite product.

BeoSystem 4 - My eventual replacement for my McIntosh MHT100 receiver & Emotive UMC-200.  I love the flexibility that this system gives me, but not enough to be my favorite product.

BeoPlay A2 - I love it for on-the-go but not used enough to be my favorite.

BeoSound Essence -  It’s a great system with still a few small flaws.  The most annoying for me is not the Essence’s fault but Twonky’s DLNA server.  They still haven’t got it stable for my Mac mini yet.  It eats up the CPU after a few hours of use.  I love my Tunein radio:

J-Pop Project Radio - “J-pop the West likes the best”

J-Idols Project Radio - “Happiness Never Sounded so Cute”

Source 2 is my DLNA server serving up a large iTunes playlist.  I just wish there was a random feature.

I love AirPlay but I don’t always have my iPad with me, so thank goodness for DLNA!

BeoLab 17 - What can I say but I am very much in love with these speakers.  A little bit more deep bass than my BL14’s, but that might be because I don’t have the bass setting 100% correct.  It doesn’t bother me though.  I always fully enjoy listening to this system.  This almost became my favorite product and probably should be… except:

BeoSound Essence Table Remote - I have the wall remote mounted so I can turn on and off the system when I enter and leave my room.  The table remote is my main interface with the Essence.  It is a perfect remote in my opinion, fully functional in the dark and using it just by feel.  I can wake up in the middle of the night and fully operate my system just by feel.  Such a small thing but I really love it!
