I asked this before about hooking up a Beocenter 2300 to a ML system and was told to use the 1612 convertor through the AUX port.

What I am going to ask now before I purchase the cable to do so, is will this system now be a conduit for the rest of my existing ML system?

In layman's terms for me anyways would I be able to access my Beosound 4000 which is at present hooked up via Master Link to 2 1658 passive amps in addition to a Beolab 2000 and 3500 in separate bedrooms through the Beocenter 2300?

Also how would the Beocenter 2300 operate...  Would I press AUX to hear the source from the Beosound 4000?  Would the Beocenter 2300 just automatically default to this source?  Would I need always press AUX to hear the Beosound 4000 source?   Just asking about the operation of this system connected to a ML system how does it function.

Thanks

Hi,

i'm not sure if this will work

Reason is that the BCenter 2300 / 2500 are more MasterControlLink systems than MasterLink systems.

To get the scenario you want there has to be _one_ Audio Master and severeal Link rooms with only speakers (what you have now) and one or more rooms with audio systems which are setup to be slaves.

As far as i know and tried myself the BC2300 / 2500 can't be programmed to be slaves, they just don't react on the necessary code '6'. They can only be set to '0','1' or '2'. '0' and '2' are used when a vdeomaster is in the same room and is connected to the Beocenter.

There would be only one chance with your equipment if you exchange the BS 4000 and the BC 2300.

And only if the BS4000 is on a certain software level to accept the option code '6' for your Link room.

If this fits your needs you can access in the Link room the radio and CD of the BC2300 in the Master room with <LINK> + <RADIO> or <LINK> + <CD>. In the Master room you should be able to access the tape in the Link room with just pressing <TAPE>, the link room CD with <LINK> + <CD>. In your speaker link rooms pressing <CD> should activate the master rooms CD of the BC2300 and <LINK> + <CD> should start the CD player of the BS 4000 in your link room.

I hope this makes the thing a bit more clear
