Currently running a virgin media box through my Beovision 5 on the DVD setting. The picture and sound has been fine up until recently but it starting buzzing slightly and now the sound fades in and out intermittently. Has anyone got any ideas on what could be wrong. Many thanks.

Check the interconnecting cable is firmly pushed in at both ends. Try the good old power off and on again.

Do you have another source that you can try such as DVD player to confirm if speakers in TV are ok?

Also you could see if you get sound through the headphone socket.

For the past few months the sound on my Avant has been coming and going, full volume to half, or stereo to mono.  As if one or more of the speakers has switched off.  Lasts for a few seconds to a minute or more.  B&O engineer checked the TV and said it was fine.  Sky engineers swapped boxes which made no difference.

Any ideas?

I had the same issue, on this same forum someone recommended a new Scart cable for my digi box and it has been fine since.

Almost certainly poor scart connections. Play around with adjusting the scart plugs and/or try a new lead as recommended above.
