Hi, just wondering if anyone can help me out, I've a pair of 8000s mk1s (also have a pair mk2s) and I've always had a problem with a slight humming being audible whilst on low volume (or no volume before they go to standby in line position as thats position I'm using them in) it's becoming very annoying to say the least!!

Sometimes 1 or both speakers can randomly come out of standby and hum slightly.... My question is, is this Humming issue a standard feature with B&O speakers or can something be done to prevent this?!

I would also add I've tried all the obvious things, I've unplugged the rca plugs and they still hum in line position and left and right

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Hi, I had this with a pair of lab 6000,s. the cable running from the audio or video source to them is faulty. If you change this it should cure the problem.

Hello

is there another reason possible? I have got BL 8000 Mk2 cables have been done a year before (got a New TV); so I think they should be fine...

Best regards

"Always" had a problem? Sounds like you've lived with the humming for quite some time. You mentioned RCA cables.... perhaps they are not shielded? I was using unshielded cables for my Beolab 4's as surrounds, and because of their distance from my receiver, they started to hum. Once I changed the cables to shielded, humming stopped.

no  - not always had the problem; just noticed the humming since a few days; shielded cables have been chosen...

seems that I should try to exchange the cable and see what will happen...

Tried to find out where the problem comes from and interchanged the two speakers - now its gone (or are my ears already used to it?);

maybe cables - but did not changed anything despite unplug and plug in again...

best regards
