Hi everybody!
Finally installed my new (old) red BV7-32 in our cabin yesterday. I'm using a DVI --> hdmi cable and phono cables, and it works like a charm. I was hoping to control my Canal Digital tuner/STB with Beo4, but so far without luck. I have choosen AV4, source STB(DTV) IR-C4 and HDTV DVI-I, but when I choose DTV and MENU it shows the DVI SETUP menu with light, contrast and colour comes up, not the STB/tuner menues.
Any tips on what is wrong? (Or what I have done wrong? ;) )
Regards
Christian
Bump!
Isn't anyone able to help? I am now experiencing the same problem with a BV7-40, picture and sound ok, but not able to control/get the stb menus up with the Beo4....
There are differences in software, which gives different directions on how to install.
First (HD ready) models with software 7.0 till 7.74. You'll have to choose for STB(DTV) or STB(VAUX) and the appropriate IR socket (C1 -C4). Then choose the right settop box. With software 7.94 you only have to choose which infrared socket (C1-C4) and then comes the collection of boxes you can choose. With the latest 7.94 software you can name your box whatever you like, VMEM, DVD2, VAUX etc. with the earlier versions only STB(DTV) and STB(VAUX) are available.
Make sure you choose HDTV "Yes". with the DVI or YPbPr .
Hi Christian
When you use the DVI input on a BV7 the B&O TV overlay menu does not show due to the HD scaler not being part of the main TV chassis, it is a direct link to the LCD panel! You will need to note what the menu options are when HDMI in MENU options is turned off and simply remember them, for example TV Guide on Sky in the UK is GO, 1. There is not a software update for this! For the IR to send on/off commands the start control of the external device needs to be switched to on if its an available option (this is the case with Sky HD in the UK).
