Hi all,

I recently move into a new apartment and the previous owner have left a Beovision 6-26 without the remote.  Sine there is no physical buttons on the TV, there is no way for me to check if the TV actually works.  Also I don't want to spend money buying a beo4 remote just to find out the TV doesn't work either.  I plugged it in and the indicator came on red then green then red again, not sure what that means.

Any ideas to how I can test the TV or any cheap third party remote which works with the TV?  If it does work I want to turn it into a computer screen/TV in my study.  Any help would be much appreciated.

cheers,

Roger

Hi there.

The behaviour of the LED indicator going from red to green to red again is normal, when you plug it in.

I don't know where you live - but it should be possible to find a cheap Beolink 1000 remote - it will also Work with the tv.

Problem is, if the previous owner did not deactivate the PIN code... If the TV Works when you turn it on, you will be asked for a four-digit pin code. If you do not have it, you can not use the tv. Then you will have to contact the previous owner... If you don't know who or where he is, then it's bad luck.

Thanks for the tip about the pin code, I'm wondering how many people would set it up to use it at home, unless of course it is compulsory to enter it each time you turn off your TV (why do that?).  Will Scout around for a beolink 1000, hopefully it's not too expensive sine I'm don't even know if the TV works, even worse if it's Pin coded!!

Well - it's not like you'll have to use the Pin every time you turn on the TV... Only when it has been without Main Power for More than half an hour - eg. if you pull the plug from the wall or turn off Main power.
