MX 7000 and Picture Mute

I recently got a MX 7000. I expected that it supports Picture Mute, but neither my Beo4 (the old model with V.TAPE) or a Beolink 1000 turn off the picture.

I tried

PICTURE>MUTE (on Beolink 1000)

and

AV>V.TAPE (on Beo4, it does not have P.MUTE in the LIST)

So my questions are:

Does MX 7000 support Picture Mute? Is there a minimum software level?

Am I using the wrong button combination on the remotes?

I am trying to get the sound from a satellite set top box through the MX to powerlinked BL 7.2. The picture goes directly (HDMI) from the set top box to a projector. So, when we are watching a movie on the projector, we always get the picture on the MX in the background. It would be great to turn it off.
