Over DLNA I have found the my Beoplay A6 will play 24/192 WAV, FLAC and ALAC files.  24/192 AIFF will not play.  Does anyone know if the Beoplay A9 MKII has the exact same file compatibility as the Beoplay A6 (Especially at 24/192)?

Thanks

Just a clarification:  I am just trying to determine if the A9 MKII will play 24/192 WAV, FLAC and ALAC files.  I am fairly certain none of the Beoplay speakers will play 24/192 AIFF.

I am having the same issue with my Essence MKII. This is also the case with 24/96. While I can play them on my BeoSystem 4 through Twonky, the Essence is silent for about 20 seconds per song before moving on to the next song.  I've reported this issue months ago, and they had requested sample files, but I've never heard anything back.

I hadn't tried it until now, but the BeoPlay A6 has the same issue.  Silence on 24/96 and 24/192 AIFF.

Mark-N,

I am pretty sure that the A6 will not play AIFF above 16/44.1 (Not sure why).  However, I have found that it is the only wireless speaker I have tested (including Bluesound Pulse 2 and Naim Mu-So) that will stream 24/192 WAV, Flac, and Apple Lossless over DLNA without skipping and very little delay before playing music (like 1-2 seconds).  All of the other speakers tested constantly dropped in and out while playing 24/192 files wirelessly.  The A6 is connected to a 5Ghz network via an apple airport extreme 802.11 AC router and the music is stored on a mac that is also wirelessly connected to the airport extreme via 802.11 AC. I am using Minim server for DLNA and using the B&O app to select music.  My theory is that it is the speakers ability to connect to the 5ghz that is making the difference (but again..not sure why)

Sorry!  I misread your original post!  I thought you tested it on an A9 and was wondering about the A6!

I hope that B&O is able to make the BeoPlay speakers and the Essence play these files.  The specs for the Essence says that it can:

Supported audio formats:

MP3, WMA, AAC, ALAC, FLAC, WAV, AIFF
Standard sample rates up to 192 kHz, stereo and up to 24 bit

Thanks. Would also be interested in supported formats by the ML/NL converter (attached to BV5)?

On the Essence product page, at the very end there is a Download Specifications link that brings up a pdf with this information.
