Hi :-)
This may be in the incorrect forum, so please feel free to move it. It touches on two items, but felt it belonged here.
I'm a bit old school, but not completely hopeless! I recently acquired a 7-55 and now have it running just fine with my 7-32 slave and Beosound 9000. I have a problem, which has ended up with me falling down the rabbithole and I need a little clarification, please.
I know you can region free (multiregion) Beovision 7s. I have a region free 7-40, which came to me like that. I know there is a special remote that was produced for use in hotels, I believe, with some special functions, amongst which, allowed the change of a Beovision 7 to region free (note, I do not mean changing the region code from 2 to 1, but the removal of all region coding)
My new 7-55 arrived with Region 1, the dealer didn't understand that I wanted to use both 1&2 and changed it. I believe it can be changed back, but I want to use US and UK DVDs (amongst others)
A little research led me here, where my other setting up problems were solved (thank you!) and I discovered that the Beo6 can be programmed with these special commands. A nice one popped up on eBay locally and I bought it. Now, this XML document I have, but now I discover I also need a configuration tool and it appears I am not alone!
I have found Keith's Word document with the instructions. I have downloaded the XML file. I can't find any configuration tool. I found a 73 page document, which whilst pretty and certainly very well written, probably goes into way more detail that I need to do the job...
Please can someone point me in the right direction? I live in the Czech Republic and despite being 20km from Koprivnice, there are no dealers here (strange, eh?!) and I don't really want to do anything particularly fancy, just program my Beo6 to program my Beovision 7-55. Should be a cinch, eh? :-) What am I missing?
Any tips gratefully received...
Paul.
