Hi there!
Bit confused over the complex world of HDMI and HDCP.
I'd like to connect an ATV 3 to my BC6 26 but it does not have an HDMI connection. It has a DVI but will not take an optical audio input. Does have RGB component with analogue LR audio. BC6 26 supports 720p and HDCP " in HD mode" according to B&O.
Question is, would a converter such as supplied by HD Connectivity allow it to connect:

I'm not sure if the HDCP works via component or whether the ATV will auto detect the 720p screen via a,converter - I understand it defaults to 1080p.
Obviously, I'll ask the company but just wondered if any Beoworld members have experience of similar set-ups. If the ATV 3 won't work I'll go the audio only Airport Express route as it's mostly iTunes I want to use.

I am using an Apple TV 1generation ( the silver one ) with a BC26 via HDMI to DVI and analogue sound. That works fine for me. The Apple TV scales down to what the TV is capable of.
Due to adding a media server in my household I am planning to use a Apple TV g3 with firecore hack to be able to stream from the media server. I am planning to use a digital to analogue converter for audio.
Right now I am not sure if it will work but if not it is finally the right time for a bigger screen. BV10 or BV12 I do not know yet.

I think it won't work with the adapter mentioned in the above link because it converts the digital data from the hdmi input to analogue component outputs. What will happen to the digital copy protection (HDCP) ? It will get lost, because it's not supported on analogue signals.
What will work is to use a hdmi-to-dvi adapter for video and an optical-to-analogue converter for audio. This will keep HDCP on the video part as hdmi is an extension of dvi. Audio is not protected by HDCP.

Thanks to both of you for your replies. HDCP was my main concern as I was also not sure it would work via analogue component. A converter is not that expensive but prefer not to buy one if it is not going to work, of course.
I had not initally thought about using the DVI with an optical/analogue converter on the audio output alone. That could solve the problem and it might be more convenient to use ATV on the BC6 than an Airport Express, even though I only really want to use iTunes for music and can control it all perfectly via my iPad.
Downside of the DVI route is that B&O decided - in their wisdom - to place the socket in a rather obtrusive place on the rear of the BC6 so using it spoils the lines a bit. And that's a big consideration for a B&O fan!!

Just an addition, HD Connectivity - which makes the converter I was looking at - say it will work with an ATV2 but not the ATV3 because of some coding issues. May be addressed in a later version, they say.
