Hi! My Beogram 2400 turntable has a issue. When the 33(start) button is pressed the motor run, platter turn on and the tonearm move to the right 12" size vinyl record even there is no vinyl record at all!. The same is happen when the 45 start is pressed - the motor run and tonearm go to 7" size without vinyl record installed on the platter. As I know there should be a security sensor who do not allow the functions to start without vinyl record installed over the platter. Where is the reason for this issue, and what I can do to eliminate the problem?
Every help or advise is highly appreciated!
Record presence is determined by weight.Do you have an anti-static mat or similar on the platter? If so, remove it and never use such a thing on any Beogram. If not, does the center puck pop up spring loaded when no record is on the platter and you press start?

Thanks for the help! The platter is original Beogram - zebra, white and black rings I don't think they can be removed. And yes, when no record the center is pop up.I finger pressed it at least 20 times and every time it pop up. The machine is sizing the vinyl records correctly - 45 for 7" and 33 for 12".
Check the circuitboard for cracked solder joints. Particularly where connectors are soldered in.
