I have a beovision 14 and beolab 20s.

I'd like to integrate a turntable into my system and I understand using an amp to the line in is the preferred solution, but where my tv is place is not brilliant in terms of placing an amp turntable nearby.

I guess alternatives would be to use something like a naim uniti to stream to the tv, would you benefit from any quality improvement from the naim amp or would the signal be downgraded by the tv and the extra expense would be wasted?

Also is it possible to wirelessly connect the beolab to the tv and then connect phono cables to them so that when the tv was off they could read the phono signal?

Thanks a lot

If you're looking to stream to the TV and place the Turntable elsewhere, why not use a NL Converter or Essence? Both have an auxiliary and once on the network will stream whatever is plugged into it to the TV. Since they are network devices you can place it virtually anywhere there is power or Ethernet.

The BL20's will need to be manually switched to wired/wireless mode if you plan to use them both wireless and wired. Not the most ideal, but can be done.

Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there

To be clear, my listed solution to stream to the TV will happen once the multi-room software is ready in spring.

Thanks for your reply.

If I understand correctly your solution would require turntable -> amp -> NL converter (once the software has been updated)

I guess my question is: is there any performance advantage from using the above B&O solution compared to using a 3rd party streamer to airplay or google cast in the tv?

Either way I'm going to require a 3rd party amp I guess.

Your assumption is correct on the connections. The advantage would be that you could listen in audio only mode with out having to have the screen on. Additionally, if using the NL converter you could put it in another room and have a pair of speakers connected to it providing another room of sound if desired.

I'd go for a BS Essence instead.

Would give you more opportunities/sources to choose from the tv - and probable easier to set up.

Get an Essence, if you want to expand your (NL) setup to another room.

Get the BeoLink Converter, if you want to integrate older B&O goodies with MasterLink.

MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Essence as well. Especially if later you want to add more speakers directly to the essence.

Thanks for your help / answers.

I went to a hifi store today and asked them the question, they said that these digital solutions lose some of the "vinyl quality" compared to wired solutions.

Have any of you guys ever compared a wired to streamed turntable, is there a noticeable difference or are these just hardcore audiophiles?

thanks

Yes I saw that, but as I mentioned my tv isn't placed somewhere that I would want to put a table and turntable next to it hence I was looking at streaming it. Maybe an interior design rather than av issue😂

Fair enough

In that case I would do as they mentioned earlier.

Connect it to an essence mk2 and then wait for the multi room.
