Hi,

Is your Beogram 8002 missing the processor chip? If not, how do you know it is defective?

Hi Sonavor...

You're correct in thinking this, I've realised what I mean is Logic Board..! Thank you for responding, I'll change it. The arm doesn't always go out to the record, sometimes stops and returns, sometimes the arm doesn't go down. And the speed LED shows fluctuation. I reckon the caps have gone..?

Hi Jay,

The normal restoration is to replace the electrolytic capacitors for sure. However, with the System 8000 components (Beomaster 8000, Beogram 8000/8002), so many times there are problems due to faulty connections. I recently had one of my Beogram 8002 turntables start failing where the tonearm was running to the end of the record, stopping and not returning. It turned out to be because of a bad connection between the ribbon cable from the control panel to the main board. I ended up replacing the board connector to fix the problem. The Beomaster 8000 can have a lot of issues with cables and connectors so you just have to patiently go through them. I'm afraid I don't have any spare glass panels for the Beomaster.
