My BV11-46 is installed yesterday, now i noticed some dust between the glass.

Is this normall or is this not acceptable?

For me, if you can see dust behind the glass, then that is not acceptable particular if it is clearly visible.

Regards Keith....

Unfortunatly from my experience, I would say it's "normal". To a certain level of course.

Both my BV10 and BV11 brand new had some dust under glass.

Of course it's not normal for such an expensive tv but we have to accept it. I battled for it for my BV10 and it can be worst trying to get rid of the dust.

A new one with no dust and everything is solved in my opinion
It's a new tv and in this price tag what are we talking about!

I had dust under my brand new Beosound 5 in 2009 despite a supposed seal to prevent such. Got it sent for cleaning and repair and came back worse. Got a new unit but after a few months same problem again. That was the last B&O product for me. I'll probably only ever buy a pair of speakers again. It's an insoluble problem I'm afraid.

Unfortunately, nowadays it is "normal" standard for Bang & Olufsen. Sad

Some workers no longer wear white coats as before.Embarrassed

Ditto for white gloves. Unsure

It is a shame. [:\'(]

Just an example with the last expensive BeoLab 90.

I wouldn't accept dust behind the screen on any TV I'd bought...  even if it was £99.

Modern manufacturing processes can create environments clean enough to prevent dust - so why can't B&O?

I absolutely would not accept this. Bang & Olufsen is a premium brand which you pay a premium price for. Do not accept anything less than a premium product.

Past five years I bought a "Loewe TV" (German factory) with a contrast filter panel infront of the LCD Screen.

Many dust between the glass and the panel.

The seller means that's not normal, the tv was complaining at the Loewe factory.

The answer from an Loewe engineer: this is normal, this is not a complaint reason.

I said: sorry no problem, doesn't matter, I like to pay 4500,00 euros for a dust catcher.Super Angry

That's my experience , not only B&O has this problem.

I would not buy again such an expensive tv, I have learned from it.

I have had three Avant 55" all have dust under the glass. The first one was really bad. The second one was serviced in my home and got much dust even though they very very careful. My latest one is the best but still a little dust. I think every Avant I've seen has a little dust if you look close. Same for BV11.

I've gotten quite used to it. It's not visible from my couch and my current one looks good, so it's only visible if you look for it closely.

And to be perfectly clear, it's not because I got used to it and I'm totally fed up of complaining that I accept it.

Yes it's unacceptable for a premium product like a Beovision (and for any product by the way).

The excuse I give for B&O is that it's some kind of "handmade" product and such thing happens.

One day when I was taking delivery of a red italian car with a horse on it, I was looking at an other new car at the dealership that had a little paint-run on the front bumper. Unthinkable !

I'm a watch collector and specks of dust under the crystal are more than common.

My brand new in AD Rolex GMT BLNR two years ago a white speck on the dial. Made it removed.

My brand new in AD Rolex Explorer II white dial last week a orange speck under crystal and a tiny black speck on dial + black hands badly painted on sides.

Unthinkable but I leave it like that, it's only with a severe inspection that you see it and my eyes are getting already tired (I'm 45).

So if you only see your dust under contrast screen with a powerful led light : just try to forget it !

And please post a pic of your new toy and tell us what you think about it compared to BV10.

My 8year old panasonic plasma has never had dust in the panel. If it had it would be a DOA and sent back. You don't spend more money on less quality.

I've done it myself on BV10 after a panel change and it was perfect.

You need a good cloth, to be fast no dogs/cats/kids around and voilà.

The dust is not in the panel, it's between panel and glass. And I believe dust can build up in there as well. Thankfully not a fan bases solution so less air movement in the enclosure.

Because of my experience,

dust particles come still with time between the glass and the screen. Sad

You can even notice it if you visit some showrooms... If you look carefully you will find quite often some particules of dust inside many display Beovision...
