Hi there

I am a forum newbie

I have a Beogram 1203 in good working order, but about 50% of the time, when I press the LIFT button, the tone arm doesn't engage and just sits there. The other 50% of the time it works just fine!

Also, the platter is running slow, so all my records sound a little sick!

Anyone have any suggestions for a reputable repairer in Melbourne Australia?

I am not against trying to fix myself, but currently just don't have the time, hence me asking about a repairer that could help?

Hope to hear from any of you soon!

Kind Regards from Melbourne, Australia!

I am also in Melbourne with a 1203 lift problem and searching for a reputable repairer. Any luck in finding one?

Welcome both of you.

Have you tried Gavin & Paul ?

I suspect they will not do it themselves but they may know someone who is competent in this area.

If you don't know them (G&P) give the Richmond store a ring ask for their contact details.

So a while back the boys at G&P serviced my 1203, they stripped down the drive motor, re-lubricated and reassembled.
This seemed to work to begin with and my 1203 was running great.

But now back to the original problem, extremely sloow running again.

Any other suggestions?

Really want this turntable to be back working like it use to be!
