Hi, if I were to buy a BS9500 will I be able to operate a BG6002 remotely
Also - is there any difference in sound quality between a 9500 and BM6500? I currently have it linked to BL2 and BL8000's - but have always loved the design of the BC9500 and 9300 so seriously considering that instead of the BM, BC and BGCD
Hi Andrew,
Yes, you can remotely control a Beogram 6002 from the Phono socket of a Beocenter 9500, the 9500 has a phono pre-amp built in so the sound will be good.
It is worth noting that Beogram 6002 (as with Beogram 6000, 8000 and 8002) has a 7 pin DIN socket on the back instead of the usual fitted cable. Hence, you will need a specially wired double screened cable (not a standard 7 pin Datalink cable) to connect the Beogram to the Beocenter.
If you don't have the cable already, please feel free to get in touch via my sponsor link at the foot of this page and I will be pleased to quote to build this cable for you.
Kind regards, Steve.
Steve.

- Though unlike Beogram 6006 and 8000, pressing play on the Beogram 6002 won't activate the Beocenter, because thedatalink system in Beogram 6002 only works one way. Also worth noting that some Beogram 6002 doesn't have the datalink module at all.

Thanks Martin,
Good point! I had forgotten about this issue with not being able to activate the Beocenter from the buttons on the Beogram 6002. I tend to be lazy and use my Beo4 remote for everything.......
