Hey guys!

I bought a new set of Beolab 20 speakers, connected them to the tv using the S8 connection hub.

I used an optical cable between the tv and the hub. When i play Music, watch movies etc. They Sound great, but when om switching between songs, tv channels and so on, i get This annoying static noise, it sounds like a crackle, almost like when you put the needle on a vinyl.

So here is my question:

- how do i get rid of This noise, have anyone of you experienced something like this?

I do not own a Bang & Olufsen tv, but a 75" Samsung.

Kind regards Anders Maabjerg.

Can you describe more in detail this crackle noise? Exactly when does it happen? Is it only when you're switching channels, songs? Has it always happened? Can you reproduce it? Are there times when it doesn't happen? How about switching sources? Is it loud, soft?

here is a video of the noise, if you turn your volume up you should be able to hear the clicking noise.

The noise is only when i shift between tracks, open a different app om my tv, like Netflix and so on.

When i use the analouge input on the hub, there is no crackle or noise. But i dont get the Nice crisp Sound that i Think fits the speakers ;-)

The wierd clicking noise you can hear is the sound im talking about.

Hi Anders,

I was wondering if you ever found a solution for this. I get the exact same noise as you with the same setup linking to a Samsung television.

Kind regards,

Ammier

I get some really bad popping through my S8 speakers connected to the connection hub, when the input changes (after taking bloody ages sometimes to detect the new source) and when the speakers (or perhaps the hub) go to sleep - that one can be BIG!

I have an Essence MKII plugged in via PL and TV via analogue in (as if my TV was using optical I couldn't use the TV volume control).

BeoVision Eclipse 55”, Beolab 18s, Beolab 19s, Beosound 1, Beoplay P2, H3, BeoRemote One IR, BeoRemote One BT, Beoplay S8, Beosound Essence MkII, BeoTime

Its not good. I went back to the store, they changed over the connection hub. Tried again and same problem.... They have told me, they will contact Denmark tech support. I have the same problem when connected to the tv or streamer.

Alternatively, they told me to buy the essence mk2 with the same solution as you. To be honest, I had budget when I upgraded from my 9s to 20s and now its getting a little silly, The other problem is that I got my 20s from a store miles away and Im dealing with a different one for the solution.

I think I might just go for a non-b&o solution for the connection with TV and music.

Ill post if they do find a solution for the static issue. To be continued.....

It isn't ideal I have to say! The popping is really loud - I'm going to have a word with my dealer. I also asked about it auto detecting the latest played source and apparently. It's supposed to take 8 seconds. This isn't too bad but also if the source just turned on is too quite (dialogue for example) it can take a lot longer.

I'm thinking about putting the TV in the line-in on the essence MKII and not using the connection hub but then I'll have 2 volume controls (or put the Tv on fixed output but then volume is on the essence remote and volume on the Sony TV remote won't do anything which will confuse the wife, baby sitters etc etc).

Anyone got similar issues? Unsure
