Dear Friends,

I got now two ( passive and mcl converter) stuck in stand-by. Tested via PL and ML, no luck.

Advised by B&O colleague to replace the pcb 01, bit expensive. Does anyone have a clue which component, fuse, etc needs to be replaced?

Regards,

Pat

Before you "take the plunge" and get technical,it might be worth considering operating temperature. These devices will stop working below a certain temperature.I used to install them in lofts and under floors, and sometimes they would not work.

Also there is a temperature sensor  built in but this one is to sense if the amplifier gets too hot.

The problem with the latter sensor,is that it becomes faulty, and won't let the amplifier switch on.

This is a posistor (330K nominal resistance)clamped to the heatsink on a little pcb.

There may be a (common!) problem with the upc module too of course. These have to be replaced, although I understand that one of our fellow members has had some success repairing them?

Its  very rare  to need to  replace the main board in my experience.
