We recently kitted out our house with some Google Chromecast Audio's. Mainly so we can stream music around the house in sync. There is one connected to our BeoSound 8 (the older non-wireless model) in the kitchen vie line in. up until the other day it was working fine, but now the dock wont seem to turn on unless there is a device plugged into the dock port e.g. an iPhone. this obviously overrides the AUX input. Music is streaming to the chromecast, as I have plugged in headphones to check, but unless a device is in the ***, it wont light up and none of the buttons work. I have tried holding the center button on the remote and dock, pressed all the volume and skip buttons in every combination, but nothing works.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Hi,I know it's been a few months. I have the same problem with my rarely used Beosound 8. I've used an older iPod nano (6G) to "activate" the Beosound 8. After the iPod is charged a minute I can use the line-in connection of the Beosound 8 and control it with the butons or the remote control.I didn't find another way to use the Beosound 8. Shame that it is defective in such a short time (compared to the older B&O products).
