I have some wiring running from my livingroom to my upstairs bedroom. I used to have a MX4000 connected through MCL to a ML/MCL convertor to my B&O in the living room. When i fashed out the MX I replaced it with a non-B&O TV (Samsung). Now I will replace the Samsung with a BV 7-32 and I would like to connect it to ML. Is it possible to re-use the MCL wiring? I.E. to cut the current connectors of and replace it at both ends with a ML connector? I is very difficult to get the old wiring out of the wall.
Thanks for you thoughts/input.
Hi Zwets,
Unfortunately there aren't enough wires in an MCL cable to turn it into a Masterlink cable, also the shielding on the wires isn't sufficient. However, you could potentially re-use the MCL cable as a Powerlink cable (although there will be some sound quality loss due to the lack of shielding).
The best option is to run a new Masterlnik cable (http://soundsheavenly.com/48-masterlink-control-and-sync) if possible, otherwise you could use an ML/MCL Converter to adapt a new Masterlink system to run over the MCL link to the rest of the house.
Kind regards, Steve.
