Hi Guys,

I've been thinking... Dangerous I know...but...

Why were the penta crossovers changed over the years? Was it because the parameters of the drivers changed and the crossovers had to match them or was it to change the sound of the speakers?

The early MK1 crossovers are very different to the later MK2 and MK3 ones.

Don't the mk3 have a bit higher mid-range?

Think some members always put their system to +2 in treble to compensate..

I was shocked when I opened my old mk1's. The crossover looks so fragile compared to the mk2

"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"

Hi Leo,

I have read in a post somewhere on here that Mk3s had a higher midrange cut off but I'm not sure how true that is.

The MK1 crossovers have so many components on them.

Who's the resident penta expert?

If one was to put the crossovers from a pair of MK3s in a pair of MK1s would it mess up the sound of the speakers or would it make them sound like a later pair?

In other words do the drivers in MK1 and MK3s have the same specs?
