Where can I purchase a plug to connect additional speakers to my B&O 2500?
Hi bmcf6234,
Welcome to the forum!
Connecting extra Beolab active speakers is straightforward, you just need a Powerlink Splitter ( http://soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/26-powerlink-compatible-splitter-doubler-2-fully-wired-powerlink-compatible-sockets.html ) and Powerlink cables ( http://soundsheavenly.com/powerlink-8-pin-din-connection/23-powerlink-mk-2-compatible-black-8-pin-din-cable-with-fully-wired-8-cores.html ) to give you an extra connection to link in other speakers alongside the existing ones.
Adding active (powered) speakers from another brand is also nice and easy, just use the same Powerlink Splitter ( http://soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/26-powerlink-compatible-splitter-doubler-2-fully-wired-powerlink-compatible-sockets.html ) and this cable to convert Powerlink to RCA/phono to give stereo outputs to other speakers ( http://soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/110-5-pin-din-to-twin-rca-powerlink-compatible-to-non-bo-hifi-amplifier-receiver-etc-din-to-twin-phono.html ).
If the speakers are unpowered (passive) then you can either use a Beolink Passive or a non-B&O amplifier between the B&O system and the speakers to boost the signal. For a Beolink Passive, please use the same cables as per the first option above, for a non-B&O amplifier please use the same cables as per the second option above.
Kind regards, Steve.
Steve.
