Beolab 20 Software Update

Told dealer today I was ordering a pair of 20s. I looked through the user guide and noticed that it mentions the light flashing green when a software update is being done.

As I will be connecting the speakers to a BV7-55 with cables, and not wirelessly, I assume the software updates, if any, will not occur?

I do have an Essence MK2 that is connected via the aux in to my Beosound 5. If a software update is needed, will I be able to reconfigure the system so that the 20s are connected to the Essence and in that way update the software?

I had the same question about the 17s. How do you know if they need a software update or which version you are on?

I emailed Beocare and they told me.
