sky q box is bluetooth so i dont think it will, my dealer says they have not seen the new sky q box as they will probably have to send it to B&O

I read somewhere that you can control a SkyQ box with an existing Sky remote so the IR signals shouldn't change that much

Im buying SkyQ in the summer to coincide with my new home so let me know what you think?

I've had it installed a week now, very impressed with the system so far. The old sky remote doesn't work. I've asked B&O if they are working on a PUC. Will post an update.

Hello there

Finding it very hard to reply without the use of the beoworld app these day.

I would absolutely love SKY Q but i need a PUC for BV7 and V1

Secondly my lodger has SKY HD and they will not allow us to have two accounts at the same address which means I cannot have it, or my lodger can upgrade to SKYQ but then you cannot have two main boxes yet so it means we have to share a planner which is not what we want to do.

Frustrated!

I've had a response from B&O, they are working on a PUC but no timescales. They will email when it's available.

Thanks

Hi

I have Sky Q and a couple of Avants. I sent my Sky Q box and infra red remote to Denmark last week so they could create a PUC. I am informed it should be available to download this week. 21-03-16

hope this helps.

Hello All

I ordered SKYQ this week now its available without SKY Broadband.

Cannot wait, 23 days to go.

Going to have a main box on my BV7-55 and a Mini box on my V1 in my Bedroom.

Also means i can loose my HDMI Splitter and Apple TV Box.

Hello there

i am so excited I cannot wait.

not really much choice in Milton Keynes as no Virgini media available here. Only choice is sky or BT I think. Cannot wait for a shared planner

Hi there,

To all of you who have an Avant and Sky Q, I was wondering whether you had tried the newly released 2160P mode that came with the August software update for Sky Q. For the life of me, I seem entirely unable to make it work. It synchs perfectly in 1080p mode, but comes up with an error in UHD mode. Just tried a new HDMI cable and no joy.

Any ideas? Appreciate it!

Hi mawheele,

I don't have SkyQ myself to try this, but I have heard that if you go to the UHD resolution selection screen where it goes black and fails - if you were to click 'ok' to this resolution - even though you can't actually see it - then it will succeed and work on the Avant. Maybe try it with 1080p so you can see how to click on ok, then try it blind on UHD?

Hi - thanks for the trick. As you say, quickly moving left  and pressing enter while the screen was blank worked the trick. Not a great experience, but delivered the right result. Thanks again.

I've tried this several times and I can not get my TV to accept the 8 bit setting. I've selected left & ok on the 10 bit settle no, but my Sky box freezes. When I try 8 bit, selecting left & ok does nothing at all. Very frustrating. Having spent so much on my TV I am really not happy that I can't watch any of my Sky content in 4k

Good tip, thanks! Took a few attempts but got there eventually, the Sky Tech had no joy neither did my B&O man who was over at the same time but perseverance paid off in the end thankfully. Also had to select Dolby Digital on the sound as default seems to be just stereo.

I agree, this is definately something to be looked at by way of a new Beosystem 4 firmware update. Whilst it works perfectly, its not a great experience.

I have an Avant 55 with Sky Q silver but do not seem to have an option for 2160p... Has anyone experienced this? I have tried updating the software but no luck...

Have you got the 1TB box or 2 TB box?

I have the 2TB box, Sky support say the box is detecting that the TV is not compatible. Clearly others have it working which is frustrating!

I have tried other HDMI cables, SkyQ is plugged in to HDMI port one, no difference...

If the actual Sky Q box isn't giving you the option of choosing 2160 then I would run an update on the Sky Q box as there was recentish software update which included the 2160/ UHD functionality, without this you won't have the option to select 2160.

Thanks, I have tried this and no luck... Sky are sending an engineer out so I will have to wait. Very frustrating!
