Beoplay H8 Update Going Nowhere?

The iOS app on my iPhone 7 (running iOS 10) was not able to detect my new Beoplay H8 headphones. (Bought the beautiful 'Deep Red' ones just today.) Therefore, I tried to do the software update process using my iMac, running OS X Sierra. The process gets as far as the step shown in the image below.

When I hold the switch on my H8 for about 12 seconds, the light turns red, like it's supposed to, and once I release the switch, the light turns off immediately and there is no change in the display on the application on the computer. Is the software update happening quietly in the background, or is something going wrong?

Hoping someone can tell me what the normal update process looks like for them...

Thanks a ton! Can't wait to get the app working, but this is so frustrating Sad
