Hey I just recently bought a beogram 8002 with issue. This is my second in the house. Sadly someone dropped it in the post (nothing new). So I opened it up when it arrived and the rail guide was broken in two places.

So I 3D modeled the part and did little changes to it as the original part is made for simple two sided plastic molding mold and not made to withstand much force when dropped. right one has original features.
After replacing the part the record player worked fine (all original caps) only a small problem. When tonearm did come to its starting place the motor did not stop. I did move the stop arm of the micro switch with screwdriver (tonearm was in the middle of the record) and then it worked properly ( player went to standby) but when the tonearm moved to the starting position on its own it did not worked (player did not went to standby mode).
This is wierd problem and I hope that the IC is not damaged...
I ordered cap kit from Martin and will do the cap change and resoldering of the solder joints soon and hope this will resolve the strange problem.
Those are nice reproduction parts you created. Well done.I'm not sure I fully understand your Beogram functional problem though. Can you post some pictures of the problem. It sounds like the problem is you can manually adjust the start/stop position switch to get the turntable to recognize it is at the standby position but when you let the tonearm return to standby position on its own, the switch doesn't work correctly. Is that correct? The same switch determines the set down point and stop point. When you press start does the turntable find the set down point correctly? -sonavor
Hi this is the switch and i believe it is one of your photos that Im using again?
If the tonearm comes back to start position on its own it does not work, if I use the switch manually it is working and the switch is working bought times as I can hear it working (clicking noise bought times). And I even adjusted the switch to be closer to the tonearm and had the same result. And if I let the tonearm come back to the start point I can only switch the 8002 to stand by using fast forward switch?!
Yep, that is a photo of one of my Beogram 8002 turntables. My question though was regarding where your set down point was when you play your Beogram and where the stop point is now. Regarding that switch...When the switch releases during play there are a certain number of turns before the initial set down occurs. When the switch stop is engaged the arm continues to move for a bit before stopping. See how consistent that is. It should always be the same distance I think. The problem is adjusting the switch so both start and stop conditions are ideal. On my particular 8002 problem I haven't been able to get the balance between the two exactly as I would like. I left mine where the stop is the way I need it. That means the set down point isn't always on the blank lead in area of the LP. My other Beogram 8002 units don't have this problem so maybe the problem is in the switch and the spring involved.I am going to swap that switch with a different one to see if that is the case but it isn't a task immediately on my list of things to do.

The start is always in the same position and tonearm drops at the same place. What makes it interesting is the switch works bought times (using it manually when I have space to use it manually or let the tonearm come back on ts own when STOP is pushed). As I can hear the click the switch makes.
The motor stops for a moment but then starts to work again...as perhaps it does not have signal that the tonearm is at the start position...
Now one more problem is that the player does not recognize if there is a record there or not (tonearm drops as there would be 33 record on place although it is not present.
I think I will let it be for now and waiting the cap kit to arrive from Martin and do the re-cap and re-solder of the soldering points. Hope this will me it...
Yes, definitely wait and re-evaluate after resoldering and replacing the electrolytic capacitors. That usually clears up a lot of problems on these series of B&O components from the eighties.
I made the tonearm carrier broken part new 3d model available here:

if someone has the same problem as I did. I don't know other Beograms it would fit, other then 8002?!
