Oppo UDP-203 4k Blu-Ray Player

Took delivery of one of the first ones yesterday, hooked it up to my BeoVision Avant 75 (BeoLab 5 fronts - with BeoLab 17 rears) and I have to say it's very, very good.

I'm no geek when it comes to all the fancy terms like judder, FPS and so on - but I can say that it knocks the Samsung UBD-K8500 I was using previously right out of the ball park.

The one very noticeable difference is the sound, which has almost 'switched on' my rear speakers. Whereas you'd only ever hear ambient noise and odd echo before, they are now actively part of the sound stage pretty much all of the time!!

So, if you've got a 4k Bang & Olufsen TV and want the best player, I think the Oppo is the way forward at the moment.

I found that the rears also switched on when i plugged in the XBox and played a 4K BR disc when compared with the Samsung. I've kept the Samsung in case i get another BV in the future.

If only the Oppo was a slot loader :-(

Does it have XLR outputs if someone wanted to use it with BeoLab 90s?

Lee... Do they have an EU/230V version already?

No on the XLR's - I don't remember seeing them as I slid it into my cabinet!  The rumoured UDP-205 will probably have these?

And yes, I have the EU version!  The first batches arrived in the UK this week and I managed to get one.

PS : It replaces my BDP-95 EU, which was also a fantastic player.
