Remarkably similar to the review posted by Lee.

So it is ovepriced for what it offers for sound quality.

I hope Bang & Olufsen learns from this!

Having seen both the bs1/2 I would pay a little more for a bs35. I don't think the quality/finishing though good is not a patch compared with the 35.

They're probably not going to make a lot of money that way.

I heard the BS2 today in a dealer for the first time and was so impressed. I will be buying one soon for sure. Incredible sound with a lovely design in my opinion. I would definitely choose this over the BS35, which when I heard several months ago at first release was pretty poor, at least to my ears. Perhaps they have changed the sound with recent software updates I don't know, but first impressions were not good. I haven't heard one since. Think the BS2 could be a great seller for B&O and I really hope this turns out to be the case. Simon.

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

I have the Beosound 1 for a few weeks now. I love the design and its ease of use. I have to admit, the sound is pretty bad though :) in my case, I have the Beosound 1 in the hallway, so sound quality isn't the biggest priority. When using multiroom, you can totally hear the difference in quality compared to e.g. the Beovision 11 or my Beolab 20.

It would be a big help, if it was possible to adjust the bass and treble. IMO it sounds too 'boomy'

Reading all the different comments about BS 1/2 and BS 35, it appears it's really a matter of taste.

One is spreading the (mono) sound at about 360°, hence it's place should be the centre of the room. It's made to use all the reflexions of the room too. And it's a (more or less) nomad device.

The other is spreading a (classic) (stereo) sound at about 180°, hence it's place should be next to a wall. It's not supposed to be moved from there.

I think it's simply not possible to compare them.

If you use them for what they've been designed, AND if you like the concept (360° vs 180°, mono vs stereo, nomad vs fixed), then you made the best choice.

Otherwise, chances are that you'll be disappointed...

It's like comparing a sports car and a motorcycle. Both are used to go from point A to point B, but that's all. Any other point is a matter of taste or need. If you prefer a motorbike, and use it as it should be, then it's the best. If you prefer a sports car, and use it as it should be, then it's the best choice too.

None is better, and each one is the best.

By the way, there are not a lot of feedbacks here about the BS35...

There will be a software update providing bass and treble adjustments. Just like the A6 got some week ago.

I notice the BS1 is quite sensitive to where it's is placed. Also, playing lossless music from my NAS really makes the BS1 to shine sound wise.Smile

Yes it is interesting that nobody has commented much on the BS35. Does this suggest it is a dud product with little to no sales?

I liked the BeoSound 35 quite a bit when I saw it at the dealer.  It was not the best place to really evaluate the sound, but it did seem good to me.  I would have considered it more if I could fit it in.  It would have to be around 87 cm instead of 100 cm.  The BeoSound 1 and 2 are much easier to place!

The BS35 has been reviewed and recommended in Hi-Fi Choice, jan. 2017. A very positive review with 4,5 stars for sound- and 5 for build quality and Features.

That's good to know but what about here on Beoworld, with so many enthusiasts for the brand? Has anyone actually bought one?

I have the BS1 in my homeoffice since September - where it performs gorgeous. The room is not too big so the BS1 is sufficient. When I first listened to it @ BEO in Munich it sounded nice - but not impressive. But in my homeoffice it was completely different! It sounds great. I had the Naim Muso at it was very sensitive to where it is placed and sounded different when I changed my location. The BS1 offers an excellent sound on every place no matter where I am in my office. I would not recommend it for bigger rooms. Tests are almost completely useless for speakers when you don’t know the room. I had Martin Logans and you could imagine that they sound only perfect where the location is suited. The Naim Muso sounds good if you find a good place for it and sitting in front of it - but different if you move within the room. And btw: the app for Muso is even worse than the beomusic app for iOS Devil

I never ever would buy a speaker without having listened to it at home before! Never!

The new Bang & Olufsen app for Android is excellent and completely different. I hope the iOS app will be similar soon.

I had a listen to the BS1 this afternoon at my dealer...

I actually urged to my dealer because @Roger said that the update for the Moment is not expected in week 51 but somewhere in 2017 (?). Its true Sad

Spend some time to listen to the A6 and the BS1(I know you actually can't compare them), and I was astonished how good the BS1 is sounding knowing it comes from only a 4 inch speaker.

Its definitely my choice for a small bathroom, or to replace my BL2000 now in this room. The only thing that holds me back at present is the incapability to use it with a remote, any remote.

Therefore, the A6 is capable to use with an Essence remote, and that is worth an extra point for this speaker.

Anyway, I am baffled from the BS1 and find it a very good sounding speaker expect doing very well in a small room.

Really? on Android? Then you're very lucky, it works not as expected from my Android phone.

I've had the Beosound 1 at home last weekend and it really did a great job in case it has enough room around itself. it's really a beast when you turn the volume up, always having an easyness and vividness that is great. but, sadly, the more i came to the walls, the more the deep frequencies took control. i checked it on the sill in the kitchen, where it was supposed to have it's place and it produces too much bass there, for example i couldn't follow the dialogues of the joined TV-signal at normal level because it was overlayed by the other noises. i hope the new m5 will fit better in my small kitchen.

Wohnzimmer: BeoVision Avant 55", BeoLab 11, 12-2 und 12-3 für 5.1-Sound +  appleTV 4K und Philips BluRay-Player; BeoSound 2, BeoSound 3000 (fast nur noch Deko)////Schlafzimmer: BeoEssence MkII, BeoLab 4000 + Samsung 46"-TV////Büro: BLC NL/ML, BeoSound 35, Thorens TD320MkII, Samsung 32"-TV, WesternDigital 4TB-Server////Bad: BeoLab 2000; alles CAT7 verkabelt////Küche: M5 (drahtlos) plus diverse apple-Geräte (imac, macbook, ipads, iphones, timecapsule, watch)

Yes, it is an impressive speaker but as you say, quite sensitive to where it is placed. I experienced the same thing when placed it on the kitchen sill. Too boomy. I´m told that the BS1 will get the same tone controls that A6 got the other day, so that will hopefully help to tune the BS1 to where it is placed.

Which Android phone do you use? I tested the Samsung S7 EDGE. The app performs very good. It’s still beta and there are some things still missing.

I'm referring to the Android Beomusic app, not the new app without DLNA capabilities

I could only run my BS1 with the new Bang & Olufsen app on Android. No success at all with the Beomusic app. The Bang & Olufsen app is a completely different beast...
