Hi BeoWorlders!
Yesterday after many many years, I bought a BeoLink 7000 RDS to go with my Beosystem 7000. I now just need to find a working Beocord 7000 and I am done!!!
I have a few questions as I think it needs some work as it seems to have a few issues and I would like to confirm that it is not down to user error.
I have a BV10-32 connected to a Beosystem 7000 via Masterlink and BL3s (connected to the TV). The Beosystem is in option 0.
Here are my questions:
I have a feeling it needs some caps fixed but I am not 100% sure at this stage. Any advice would be awesome.
Thanks,
Mike
I had the same problem, also using a Beomaster 7000,but I was using the receiver without any link connections. In your case the remote control commands are via the tv of course.
It's most likely that the remote control has suffered from leaking/off spec capacitors, and that was the case with mine.Try resetting the Beomaster control option to 1(sound-1-store)if you have another remote control?
If the BL7000 then functions normally with two way commands,ie no more " no contact" messages,it will suggest that the problem lies with the tv or link equipment.
If not, then as In my case, there were several tiny electrolytic capacitors that had failed, but particularly, the two in the ir receiver section of the BL7000 .
I managed to find some modern equivalents, and although the work is fiddly, the cap's can be replaced, but patience and beer will help.
It restored full operation to my BL7000 happily.
Change the Beomaster option back to option 0(sound-o-store) finally.
Nick
The 2 way communication between the Beomaster 7000 and the beolink 7000 will not work with the BM in option 0. Your beovision is not a 2 way model (B&O stopped producing 2 way comms models many years ago).
The capacitors in the BL7000 reciever circuit are definitely prone to failure and you will need to replace them at some point, but in this case I don't think that is the problem

I figured this would be the best test. I could not get the system to myself to test it yesterday but I did this evening. With the Beomaster in option 1 or 2, it would not communicate in two-way at all. I suspect the caps have leaked. I also think the fact that it is not storing setting perhaps means there is something else going on too. I am thinking the internal battery (not the main one).
Time to track down a person with some technical skills. Any recommendations?
Hi,
this link might give you some valuable hints.

Thanks, RaMaBo. I actually had a good read of this last night and I am trying to find out someone local to do the work for me.
I have just dropped off the BL7000 now to a nice chap that is going to have a look using the service manual and the forum's guide. Let's see what happens :)
I had the Beolink recapped and it’s working again.
