Hi there
I tried to find an answer for some months, but could not find enough information to the MCL82 system. The preowner of our flat bulit in a very nice MCL82 system into the ceilings of some of the rooms. Sound is great (but limited) when I do connect the cables (3pinDIN) to a Beomaster 5000. I usually cannot use all speakers in stereo at the same time. But that could be due to some cable-connector issues.
Nevertheless I would like to connect this system to my Yamaha Receiver, as for usability reasons and more options regaring our speaker setup.
So far we have only two 3 Pin DIN cables coming out from the wall. Does anybody know, if we can somehow connect them to the preouts (active or passive) of our Receiver?
Hi theview and welcome to Beoworld,
if your Yamaha receiver has a line-out connection, maybe even configurable as a second zone or (if it is an older one) a tape-connection, you could use this to connect to your BM5000.
The BM5000 has an Aux-in (amongst other inputs) - connect to this and you will have sound (from the Yamaha) on the 5000 and on the MCL82 system.
Just push the button (do you have the B&O remote?), that corresponds with the input you choose - and switch the Yamha to the output (or zone, if it has such) and pick, what you want to listen to.
This way you can use the Yamaha like you intend to - and have all sources available on it on the B&O system.
Ok, this requires some pushing of buttons, but once learned it will be easier ;-)
You can not connect the MCL82 system directly to the Yamaha - since the tech for this is part of the BM5000!!!
P.S. If you can't hear all speakers at the same time, you probably do have some connector-issues.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Dear MM
Thank you so much! Ok, then I know how to proceed. I will connect the BM5000 to a zone out of the Yamaha.
To use our ceiling speakers I will then switch the BM5000 on by Beo4 or MasterControl Panel and switch it to the Aux-in.
Great, thank you again and all the best for 2017!
Cheers

Have fun.
These 30 odd years old B&O systems can certainly still be used - if you know howto ;-)
True, that's right and the sound is still great!
One more thing. The cables came out of one connector. I have a diagramm where to connect which colour, but I could not open the connector itself yet. There is a grey outer part (the hull) and a black plate in front, which holds the three pins. Is there a smooth way to open it up, so that I could re-connect the cables...?
It is just a friction fit - tight, but should pull out by gripping the blade pin.
