Chromecast on Essence Mk II

Hi all

I was trying to Chromecast from Deezer to my Essence Mk II. However for some reason Deezer could not connect.

The Deezer Chromecast functionality on my iPad is working fine, as I could Chromecast to a google Chromecast dongle connected to my V1.

Does anyone know how to solve this? I usually use Deezer directly on the Essence, so it is not a major issue to me. Nevertheless I would like to get it resolved

Am I the only one who has problems in chromecasting to an Essence Mk II?

What could I do to resolve this?

Buy a Chromecast

I don’t use Deezer - so can’t tell if that is a specific Deezer issue.

 Casting from other sources/apps to my Essence (2nd gen) works fine, though.

My Essence Mk2 Chromecast is solid.  I am about ready to throw out my Google Chromecast because it starts dropping out after about 20 minutes of operation, it disappears and Spotify often blocks my playback because it says I'm using it on a different device after the dropouts start. Maybe I have a lemon, but it is quite frustrating.

 

 

I agree with Leo, get a chromecast audio for the line in. That’s what I use.

Actually the built in deezer and BT have been the only reliable things in my essence mk2’s. Cc, tunein and Spotify have never been reliable but I have my fingers crossed that the new fiber optic connection we are getting will improve matters.

The nice thing with the Chromecast is that it is updated very often and if you have major issues you can just buy a new one. It’s 35€

And the DAC is amazing!

I restarted the Essence yesterday and was able to stream Deezer via Chromecast. So I naively assumed things were solved.

Unfortunately one day later I couldn’t connect anymore via chromecast

Spotify connect works like a charm. Maybe it is a Deezer problem?

In the end I might add a Chromecast to the line-in. I am a bit reluctant however, as this should be covered by the Essence rather than via a workaround

I can’t get Deezer to Chromecast from my Android phone at all. The Deezer app doesn’t show the Chromecast icon. Online help/message boards suggestion various resets, but they don’t work for me. Works fine from the B&O app, but then there is no “flow”. In my case, nothing to do with the Essence or Chromecast so sorry for this off topic rant.
