Hello,

I have probably bought the last bv 8-26, I use it as a pc monitor on a mac. I can't seem to slect speaker 2 or 3. Setup is a macbook air late 2011 with hdmi connected to bv8-26. Have put it in option 4 and 1, 2 doesn't seem to work?

I jus press speaker on a beo4 and I can only see speaker 1. Wen I press 2 it still gives m only speaker 1. Do I need an extra ddkit fo multiple speakers, Maybe this is o of th first models, I have bought it from new...

Thanks Chucky

So you got 2 beolab speakers attached and the info was set in the sound menu?

Ralf is corect.  Once you have speakers attached to the BV-8, you must go into it's sound menu and register the speaker type and then assign each speaker's role.  We never got the 26' here in the US, and some software may be different; but start with the TV on, press menu twice, select Options, then Sound, and then to Speaker Types, then Roles, then Distance, and finally Levels.

Let us know how that goes!

This is the cheapest version ever. Only 1 powerlink and no sound menu where you can select speakers. You need to press your beo 4 sas the manual and select speaker1, 2 or 3.

Normally in a bv eg 7 or 6, you can select them in the menu even wgich one but not on a bv8-26

Thanks Chucky

I have checked my BV8-32 manual and settings.

Like your BV8-26 my BV8-32 only has one powerlink output, so logically all you can get is stereo ([SPEAKER]+[2]) or [3] where you use the BV8's built-in speaker as a voice central channel. [1] of course only gives you the voice channel.

What speakers do you have attached to the powerlink socket ?  I guess you are using a Y splitter cable like me, or have you daisy chained your external beolab speakers ?  Just check they are correctly set as Left and Right with their switches.

The SOUND option (press [MENU] [MENU] to get the options list) gives me Speaker Position 1 or 2 - but this is to control bass behanviour depending upon how close the BV8 is to a wall.

Hi elephant;)

Got the wrong cable. Patched a new pl cable in and it worked.

I never knew that if you do not connect a right cable you can't select a speaker

Thanks chucky!
