I am assured that I can use a Beosound 9000 MKIII as a simple CD player connected to my Beomaster 4000 via one of the two 5-pin DIN Tape inputs, provided I use a Dummy Plug in one of the Powerlink outputs of the Beosound to fool it into thinking that it is connected to active speakers.
Can anyone tell me what type of plugs I need on each end of the connecting cable. The Beomaster 4000 only has 5-pin DIN inputs, no phono inputs at all,l so I guess that rather determines the plug at one end of the cable, but what about the other end.
I have tried a variety of plug/socket combinations without any joy - the Beomaster 4000 just doesn't recognise that there is any input signal coming from the Beosound 9000 so I must be missing something obvious - do I need a special type of cable or what? Where am I going wrong? HELP PLEASE!
