Hello,

I need some help about the integration of a BeoSound Essence mk2 in a ML system.

I write this as an user of a 100% ML system for about 15 years. In this time the system had two mayor upgrades.

My current setup is now as follows:

MAIN ROOM:

-          AUDIO MASTER: BeoSystem7000 complete + Penta3 + BeoSound Essence MK2 (connected to "tape2" of Beomaster 7000 via Soundsheavenly aux cable) + Master Control Panel 6500

-          VIDEO MASTER: BeoVision 7 40 MK6 + VHS V8000 + HDR1 + WesternDigital TV + Humax HDR FOX T2 (as a BV7 internal dtv backup) + BEO 6

LINK ROOM 1:

-          BEOLAB 3500 + BEO4

LINK ROOM 2:

-          BEOVISION MX 7000 + BEO4

LINK ROOM 3

-          Empty – (free ML plug)

As you can see, at the moment, I can “pull” TuneIn, Deezer and NAS’ mp3 from BS Essence (main room) to link room 1 and 2 by pressing atape2 on the local Beo4 (and then I can control BS Essence sources with BeoMusic on my Android device). I can also wake up with TuneIn in my bedroom setting a daily atape2 timer on the BV7, as long as BS Essence is always on.

Following this very interesting post about BS9000 and Beolink Multiroom (via BeoMusic app) http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/22951.aspx , I was wondering what would happen if I move the Beosound Essence in the Link Room 3 (already masterlinked) and add a NL/ML converter there (and maybe a pair of Beolabs connected to the Essence).

Here are my main (random) questions about this potential upgrade:

- Could I see all my ML products in the BeoMusic app (different squares in the multiroom page) and control (for instance) all my BeoSystem 7000 sources (CD, radio, atape, phono … ) with BeoMusic app and distribute them in any room?

- As for BV7 sources (DTV, vtape etc…): doing this way, would I gain some sort of control with BeoMusic app as well?

- Can the Beolink app help me some more (= would it add some more control to my system) ?

Thanks anyone for support.

No

The NL system cannot determine which ML device is in which room

All very basic controlls

that would be your way to go

Hi,

I've just recently installed an NL/ML converter and not that experienced but in the setup mode from the converter I only can select app icon for the more modern BeoSound systems such like BS9000/3000/4/5.

I might be wrong but seems that multiroom only provides for limited ML products.

Hopefully a little piece of the puzzle on your questions.

BV Harmony 65 / Eclipse 55 / BL 50 / 19 / 18 / BS 2 all brass

BV Horizon 48 / V1 40 / BL 17 / Beoplay S3 all black

V1 / BL 3 / BS Essence MKII / Beoplay A3 all white

BS Moment / BS 3000 / BS 3200 / BL 400 all silver

Headphones / bluetooth speakers / BLC NL-ML / BLGateway

I know…B&O virus has grown on me !

i might be wrong, but the beolink-app requires a Gateway, not the Converter. Settings with the Converter are endless, i needed a lot of try and error plus the manual plus the informations supplied here and combined with the settings of the NL-products there are a lot of possibilities. in my setup for example the CD- and Radiobutton of the Beolab 2000 are fixed to the Beosound 3000, but i'm free to set the TV-button on every NL-source, in my case it pulls TuneIn from the A6, going further with the buttons of the Beo4 where the DVD-button pulls HDMI3 from my Avant......

Wohnzimmer: BeoVision Avant 55", BeoLab 11, 12-2 und 12-3 für 5.1-Sound +  appleTV 4K und Philips BluRay-Player; BeoSound 2, BeoSound 3000 (fast nur noch Deko)////Schlafzimmer: BeoEssence MkII, BeoLab 4000 + Samsung 46"-TV////Büro: BLC NL/ML, BeoSound 35, Thorens TD320MkII, Samsung 32"-TV, WesternDigital 4TB-Server////Bad: BeoLab 2000; alles CAT7 verkabelt////Küche: M5 (drahtlos) plus diverse apple-Geräte (imac, macbook, ipads, iphones, timecapsule, watch)

right

Good. How about the BeoMusic app. That should function without the gateway and identify units that are connected one-to-one to an NL/ML converter? Correct?

each NL/ML converter appears as one unit within the Beomusic-app as each NL-product like the Essence, the A9 appears as an unit. i guess it's helpful to get a converter for each ML-source but others could tell more about it for i have just one BS 3000.

How advanced is your control of the 3000 through the app?

Very helpful.

How advanced is the app's control of your BS3000?

I have tried replying twice via the Beoworld app, but I cannot see what I have written. Forgive me if my question appears multiple times.

What level of control are you able to gain over the BS3000 via the BeoMusic app?

and, due to your products and settings, your sources available (i´m with iOS/apple). you can skip back/forth, pause/play and have volume control. for i have no speakers connected with the BeoSound 3000 and the converter i have to start the speakers manually either with the Beo4 or the buttons of the IR-eye and the BeoLab 2000

Thanks a lot for this thorough answer of yours. It is very elucidating.

If I understand correctly the BeoRemote app has all the functionality you need.

Wishing you a great Saturday evening!
