It was always going to happen..
Professional Tinkerer Gavin Sykes (owner of STB Brackets) has experimented with stripping and re-anodising the BeoRemote 1 casing and has come up with the bespoke offering for clients at his stores - and mentioned it to me the other day.
He's agreed to offer the service to any BeoWorlders who are interested, so if you're up for a custom remote please email Bang & Olufsen of Lincoln and they will be happy to assist!
The prices are as follows :
Complete BeoRemote 1, in Black, (Standard or Bluetooth) : £275 plus postage
BeoRemote 1 casing only (as pictured) : £115 plus postage
I won't put the B&O Lincoln web address on this thread as the good old web-bots will just batter it with spam, so if you Google 'Bang & Olufsen of Lincoln' and use the 'Contact' form on there, they can help you from there!
The BANG & OLUFSEN logo is not re-etched by the way - it's anodised over, so has an almost light gunmetal look to it. Nice!
Well, there you go. He didn't really want to shout about this - but I badgered him into it. I like customising!
Casing only..
Final view...

There is a tv - and there is a BV
That looks great!
Now..... what about a bit of oak?
Now that's customisation!!!!
Next up: backlighting for the buttons! I know.. this is probably something B&O need to sort out as it would involve a complete redesign of the board circuitry.
Black BeoRemote 1... Red back-lit buttons? Evil
