Im starting to play around with the local sources in my NL setup

Today in the A9 setup (you can use the app, or I just put the IP address in my browser as its faster), I selected "Deezer (Avant)" - I had de selected all of the NL  sources in the local list (as there are too many).

The findings are:

> The avant switches on and mutes the picture (good)

> The avant speakers do not lower (good)

> The A9 is playing Deezer from the Avant (as opposed to locally)

> The Avant is acting as a "stereo system"

> The Avant remained in its home position

> When turned off the A9 the Avant powered off

What I see from my local sources in the A9 setup I have:

- Tune In

- Music

- Bluetooth

I have de selected: Line IN, Q Play, Spotify.  I see that also there is no "deezer" source and this must really be "Music"

Same here with the BS35 (that has A9 parts)

exactly CB

I found this out because of the fact that when I tap the A9 it plays deezer and then I look on the app and it shows deezer as the inbuilt source

Today's experiment was to see how the sources from other devices react.

I noticed in the Essence set tup that there is a thing called "INTEGRATED SETUP". Does anyone know what that means?

When I selected it , all of the local sources go. And when I deselect it, all of the local sources come back.

Ooh

More good findings.

Now I have my Beolab3 attached to the essence. Now I know why ppl say they're good. I now have avant level controls.

With an essence you can actually specify which speakers are attached! πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘―

And it has tone and treble control! And loudness. Woooohooooo.

This is like when you use a tv as the speaker for the box.

The sources are then available on the tv in the Source Menu/via a Beoremote.

They can be configured (soundwise) like any other source of the tv.

The User Guide of the tv should give you further information on howto.

Note: not all sources (of the Essence) can be integrated.

This is something that was possible with the BS Moment from the start and was added for the BS Essence with a sw update not long ago.

Thanks MM

Does that work for ML BVs across the other side of the great BLC divide ?

PS Michael - yes in my setup when you press music on the ML it activates Deezer on the NL

Would be great to select the default source ... e.g. Spotify

There is a tv - and there is a BV.

So I have deselected it

Tonight I setup an old iPad as a music centre

When I chose the BL3 (essence) on the app it changed the avant which was on to that source. So I turned it off.

When I turned off integrated it then allows you to use the essence locally and not changing everything else that is on in the house.

This then answered a previous question I had on the join command. It is now therefore possible to push from other products to the avant rather than the other way around

Don't want to be offtopic, but just to check: do you have "Enable loudness" in BeoMusic app only for Essence or also for A9? Not available for me neither for A9 nor A6, all FW are the latest.

Hi,

I confirm loudness is only on the essence.

I have 2 A6 with same firmware as my Essence MKII and they don't have the Loudness option.

Christophe.

Beolab 1, Beovision 7-32, Beosound Moment, Beolab 18, Beolab 19, Beoplay A6 Grey, Beoplay A6 Black, Beolit 15, Beoplay H7, Beosound Essence mkII waiting for speakers :)

Yes they have.

It's the same for the essence : the switch is not directly on the essence but on the speakers.

Hello all!

More generally speaking when it comes to Multiroom:

What are your most curious findings?

What are you impressed with and what has been a disappointment?

What gas surprised you the most - positively and negatively?

Most curious

- that it actually works (in wireless)

Impressed

- that if an NL product is on which ever product you turn on next turns on

Disappointed

- there should be a product support for beolink and all its settings.

- there was not enough info and what it means to have a primary and secondary product

- there was not enough info about turning the delay ms down to ensure everything is in sync

- yesterday in the update history there has been a number of updates to the essence but no communication of what these are. How are we supposed to enjoy the new updates if we don't know

Best surprise

- finding the new settings. The essence can be told which speakers are connected !

i agree, it was here in the forum that i found links to download detailled (and very helpful) manuals for both Networklink and Masterlink and not on B&O´s website. I guess most of B&O´s clients have their setup done by the dealers technician and don´t bother about it.

I would like to have individual icons for the speakers run by the Essence as you have with the NL/ML converter

Wohnzimmer: BeoVision Avant 55", BeoLab 11, 12-2 und 12-3 für 5.1-Sound +  appleTV 4K und Philips BluRay-Player; BeoSound 2, BeoSound 3000 (fast nur noch Deko)////Schlafzimmer: BeoEssence MkII, BeoLab 4000 + Samsung 46"-TV////Büro: BLC NL/ML, BeoSound 35, Thorens TD320MkII, Samsung 32"-TV, WesternDigital 4TB-Server////Bad: BeoLab 2000; alles CAT7 verkabelt////Küche: M5 (drahtlos) plus diverse apple-Geräte (imac, macbook, ipads, iphones, timecapsule, watch)

Awesome. Will a setup with several NL/ML converters added individually to old products make each product just as good a Multiroom product as the new ones, provided that at least one new NL product is present in the setup?

When connecting a converter directly to one product is a delay box necessary? My dealer says yes, but from the documentation it appears not to be the case.i

With regard to accessing the sources of the old ML product from other NL devices, yes, pretty much as good as a NL device itself. However, for accessing netlink sources on the ML product, you still have to work within the confines of what masterlink supported - so you are limited by the number of available ML source names (and the way these are grouped between AudioMaster, VideoMaster and SourceCentre).

For example, a old ML BeoSound, connected to the converter, might be given access to Deezer from a NL product in another room, by mapping this source to the 'TV' source button on the remote, but if you have a lot of possible sources in your setup, you might run out of buttons you can map.

If you connect the product (by ML) to the converter, and then plug the speakers into the converter rather than the product itself, no delay box will be required. You can't do this with a video product though as the picture and sound will be out of sync (a delay box wouldn't help in this scenario either though).

Hi, riverstyx.

Thanks for the thorough reply. Practically, an NL-product already playing is joined how from an ML product without the join command?

I imagine the BeoMusic app could come into play, but physically which buttons do you touch on the ML product (/its remote)added to the converter?
