Hi - does anyone know if the DTV key on a Beo4 can be reassigned to V.AUX? I read in an old forum that a dealer did this for someone so wondering if anyone knew how to do it?

The problem I have is that it is not possible to have AV1 working on my BV8 without the system module installed but this means the DTV button is digital TV which I do not want - I use APPLE TV instead of terrestrial TV - so at the moment cannot have Apple TV on Sat, V8000 on V.Mem and DVD1 on DVD. reassigning the key would give me the TV as I want to use it.

AFAIK it's not possible.  Instead you need one of these:

Thinking further about this (although I don't have a BV8).  If you are not using the TV tuner, can't you set up AV1 as a DECODER input, and then tune a single TV channel as if it needs a decoder?  You could then select AV1 by simply pressing TV.  This technique works with other B&O TVs, and I used it until recently on my BV6.

Thanks Guy  - I'll try that but it would be apple TV that I would have as the decoder - good if it worked though - any idea where I could get one of the special Beo4's? - although I think I need AV1 and Av2 physically for the scart sockets

The V.AUX Beo4 is sometimes called a Mk5 - very occasionally they come up on eBay - but maybe try lifestyle or Timeless AV.  Often sellers ask £150+, due to the rarity.

Does you BV8 not have a DVI socket?  I use that for my ATV (although I also have to use an HDMI audio extractor to get the audio).

EDIT: Timeless do have one, at a price: http://timeless-av.co.uk/category/accessories/miscellaneous/

Hi - many thanks - had a look but that is too expensive for me - I think I shall just use List and then V.Aux - will have a go with some of the options though tonight - thanks for letting me know though - that's saved a lot of frustration. I also wish they had included an option to turn off the internal DTV funtion in the system module but that doesn't appear to be the case either. So wondering what people did when they bought one new and alread had a DVD1, Video and HDMI source! - most likely people wanted the digital tv option as well.

On my BV8-40 I have the system module and a TV + DTV Beo4.

When Australia shut down its analogue service I disabled the analogue inside BV8 (I forget how but it is on the forum somewhere)

This caused digital TV to become associated with the TV button

I then cabled my FOXTEL HDMI so it is associated with the DTV button

I have my ATV set as the DVD button

You might be able to reverse the setup and get what you want

Sorry this is half answer - I am typing during my commute with no ability to research old forums

Hi Elephant - many thanks, I'll have a look later - I have an 8-32 so it may not work - will also look at the decoder option mentioned

Will let you know how I get on as no doubt could be useful to others.
