I came across a blog about the challenges in programming, and it immediately made me think of B&O and their transition from their proprietary coding / APIs in the Video Engine 1/1.5 (and older systems), merging it with Android, and next probably throwing in WebOS as well, as the third TV platform.

The blog does not mention the client, but the challenges match the pains of transition that B&O must be going through to a T. After all, it's integration of a long line of legacy software solutions to Android (and presumably WebOS), and there's a backend, too, on servers somewhere.

There's no excuse for bugs, and using the customers as beta testers, but I am little more forgiving and feel sympathy for the developers, after reading this piece:

Warning: it's very nerdy.

B&O product history since 1991: Ridiculously long to list in a signature.
