I have a ten year old BEOVISION 7 -32 TV and there are shadowy areas appearing on the screen. What is the normal lifespan of this model and would it be expensive to repair?

You will have a Mk1 (Type 9314 or similar) and this is the fluorescent backlight diffuser for the panel which has become discoloured due to heat.

It's a known issue, and many panels were replaced under warranty. Some of the panels which had lighter use developed this outside the warranty period though and were never fixed.

Rumour has it that for an extra 5-10 Euro, this diffuser could have been separate to the LCD panel itself, but to save money the diffuser was made part of the panel - and here the problem lies...

The only fix is a new panel. Not worth doing. Sorry.
